I was inspired to become a designer because designers are the shapers of space |
and creators of experience. |

Through design, architects create space |
that has expression, evokes emotion, and elicits feelings: |

a home embraces; |
an office detains; |
a church sanctifies. |
Architecture is the art realized through experience. |
|
From cabins to skyscrapers, every individual to encounter a building experiences it |
and takes away with them a tiny piece of the building in the form of a memory. |

The less successful buildings |
are those which are forgotten |
shortly after a person walks away. |
But to create an experience through architecture |
that leaves an imprint on the mind of those |
experiencing it; |

that is the purpose of design. |
